A healthy tooth is composed from several layers. The exterior layer is composed from a tough structure, called enamel. The enamel is sustained from the interior by a layer called dentin, which has in its center a soft tissue called pulp cavity. The pulp cavity contains blood vessels, nerves and conjunctive tissue that are responsible with the forming of the tooth throughout its eruption on the arcade. The pulp of the tooth receives all the substances needed for a normal development through the blood vessels that enters the tooth at the base of the root. After the tooth ends its grow, the role of the pulp tissue is over. This means that if its needed, we can remove the pulp (nerve) of a tooth without affecting its integrity.
